Professor

Prof Nahida Tabassum joined Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, India in 1991 as lecturer. She has a teaching experience of more than 30 years in university, teaching undergraduates and Post graduate students of Pharmacy . She is presently working as Professor  and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical sciences. She has published more than 80 papers in International and National journals besides publishing one book and few book chapters . She has attended more than 100 Conferences/ workshops/seminars/training courses etc and has presented around 75 papers in National/International conferences/ Seminar. She happens to be in the Panel of Examiners of many National Universities besides being included in the panel of experts for Evaluation of PhD Thesis by AIIMS, Delhi.

Around 25 students have been awarded MPharm and PhDs under her guidance. Her area of research includes Diabetes, Hepatotoxicity, Toxicology, Epilepsy, Neuroprotection, Indigenous drugs etc. She is President, J& K branch of  Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI), an Academic Member from J&K State for "Scientific Body and Various Scientific Committees of IPC",  Govt Of India, Member Board of Undergraduate and Post Graduate studies, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, Member of Different Committee, University of  Kashmir. She is life member of 12 different associations like IPC, IPS, INSCA, APTI, SOPI, KUTA, KUAA etc. She is technical editor and reviewer of many international journals.
