It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar. Our Department has been catering Bachelors in Pharmacy since 1983 and Masters & PhD from 2009. Pharmacy being a professional course provides an expertise in manufacturing of medicines and their quality control, health-care service to patient, ensures safe and effective use of medication for better health and well-being. The goal of the Pharmacy program is to render professional skill, knowledge, abilities to students to serve in pharmaceutical industries, academic institutions, drug regulatory bodies, hospitals and to provide appropriate medication service to the patient. The curriculum aims at providing an opportunity to students to design & evaluate various dosage forms, learn their mechanism of action/side effects & also involves Regulatory & Ethics to be followed in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Processes. The academic undergraduate four year Bachelors in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program provides an in-depth adequate knowledge & scientific research updates including basic principles & advances in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy  & Phytochemistry, Pharmacy Practice and other interrelated disciplines.

The Department offers the two year Masters in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) in five core specializations, i.e. Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacognosy. Course work of these programes are aimed to impart practical skills to budding professionals which include a one year dissertation work in their 2nd year course.

The Department also offers doctorate in pharmacy(PhD) in above mentioned five different specializations. Our Department has highly qualified, experienced and research-oriented faculty. It also ignites inbuilt abilities & potentialities in students and prepares highly competent pharmacists who can serve in Pharmacy profession globally. The profession of pharmacy has got a lot of job opportunities in the field and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of Kashmir is the right destination for students with career aspirations in the field of pharmacy.
