Professor

Prof Nahida Tabassum joined Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, India in 1991 as lecturer. She has a teaching experience of more than 32years in university, teaching undergraduates and Post graduate students of Pharmacy besides guiding doctoral scholars. She is presently working as Professor (Pharmacology). She has twice been Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. She  was Dean, School of Applied Sciences and Technology since August 2020 to August 2023.

She was also president , Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI) J&K Branch till 2023. She has been member University Council ,was member Syndicate University of Kashmir, Member Syndicate University of Jammu, is Senate Member NIT srinagar, Member Finance Committee University of Jammu, Vice Chairperson University Research subcommittee. She has published more than 100 papers in International and National journals besides publishing one book and many book chapters. She has attended more than 100 International/National Conferences/ workshops/seminars/training courses etc and has presented more than 100 papers in National/International conferences/ Seminar. She happens to be in the Panel of Examiners of many National Universities besides being included in the panel of experts for Evaluation of PhD Thesis by AIIMS, Delhi.

Around 40 students have been awarded MPharm and PhDs under her guidance. Her area of research includes Diabetes, Hepatotoxicity, Toxicology, Epilepsy, Neuroprotection, Indigenous drugs etc. She is an Academic Member from J&K for "Scientific Body and Various Scientific Committees of IPC",  Govt Of India, Member Board of Undergraduate and Post Graduate studies, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir, Member of Different Committee, University of  Kashmir. She is life member of 12 different associations like IPC, IPS, ISCA, APTI, SOPI, KUTA, KUAA etc. She is technical editor and reviewer of many international journals.
